Miramar Beach is very much popular in Goa as it is nearest (just 3 kms) to Panjim, the capital of Goa state. The beach was originally named as Porta De Gasper Dias by the Portuguese which was then renamed to Miramar.
The beach is crowded with tourists during the months of April-May and the locals too visit the beach for taking the traditional salty water bath which is considered to be rejuvenating all the body veins.
Lots of beautiful palm trees standing tall on the beach gives shade for the people to rest around from the hot sunlight after having the sea water bath.
The beach is commercialized with various beach resorts and hotels.
The Samadhi of Late Dr. Bhausaheb Bandodkar, Goa’s first chief minister is located on the road beside the beach.
Also there is a small children’s park next to the Samadhi.
