Pineapple juice (Ananasacho juice)
Pineapple is cultivated in Goa on a large scale as Goan climate favor the cultivation of pineapple trees. Pineapple called as ananas in konkani is available in Goa in summer season. My kids prefer pineapple juice (Ananasacho juice) rather than eating the fruit.
I normally select the pineapple with a strong, sweet aroma. It should be plump and fresh looking. During summer season when pineapples were out, I got one and made some tasty, yummy pineapple juice (Ananasacho juice)!
The pineapple juice (Ananasacho juice) definitely quenches your thirst on hot summer days. It’s packed with vitamins and enzymes, thus has many health benefits. Pineapple juice (Ananasacho juice) made out of fresh pineapples is really very healthy as it has no preservatives.

Tip: The amount of sugar added depends on the taste of pineapple. If pineapple is sweet you add less sugar and if pineapple is sour than add more sugar.

Fresh pineapple is an excellent source of antioxidant vitamin; vitamin C.
It also contains small amount Vitamin A and beta-carotene levels. These compounds are known to have antioxidant properties.
In addition, this fruit is rich in B-complex group of vitamins like folates, thiamin, pyridoxine, riboflavin and minerals like copper, manganese and potassium that are essential for optimum health.
Preparation time: 15 mins
Pineapple: 2 cups (cut into small pieces)
Water: 2 cups
Sugar: 2 tbspn (can vary to taste)
Ice cubes (optional)
- Peel, core and cut the pineapple into cubes.
- Blend pineapple pieces, water and sugar into the blender.
- Strain the juice.
- If prefer chilled, add some ice cubes and serve the pineapple juice (Ananasacho juice) chilled.
